Our Program

What our Live in the Fit Lane Virtual Program is all About

Our program is unique in that we are more than a studio coming into your home. We strive to provide a community for participants 55+ years of age to workout together online and in person, together while apart, when possible. We are interested in you as a person and want to share information with you about fitness, nutrition, wellness , aging and fun things to keep you intrigued and enrich your life.
Most of our live zoom classes are about 30-40 minutes long. We have a variety of classes and times that we teach live throughout the week that you can participate in and feel connected to our Boomer Zoomer community. Please visit our virtual classes page for class descriptions and a class schedule. Showing up to a live zoom class will hold you accountable to keeping with your fitness goals. You will also get to see your boomer zoomer ‘ friends ‘ for a bit of a social before and after the zoom class. Seeing everyone working out together will encourage you to keep moving and challenge yourself.
Included in the program, are a diverse collection of pre recorded videos that you have access to. You can workout to a video any time and from anywhere that you can connect online. We have a variety that you can choose from to meet your fitness level. Some videos are specifically for balance training, stretching , weights or a Hiit class to name a few.
With our program, we provide a fitness consultation for new members upon registration. We will arrange a time to meet with you on zoom to review exercises, form, offer modifications and discuss any concerns you may have. We want you to get the most from this program and not get injured or discouraged.

To get the most out of your experience in our program and to see and feel the results please try to follow these recommendations:

WORKOUT

Do about 3-5 classes each week. You are encouraged to start slowly and build up gradually . Recommend 20 to 60 minutes of low to moderate intensity exercise, 3-5 days per week including aerobic and muscle strengthening exercises. As you progress, you should aim to accumulate 150 minutes or more of moderate intensity physical activity per week. It is advised that you consult a qualified exercise professional to help you develop a safe and effective physical activity plan to meet your health needs.

BE CONSISTENT

Make attending our classes part of your regular daily routine and make that time count. Regularly come to the zoom class that interests you and challenges you. Work hard and put 100% into each session – you’ll be happy you did and you wont regret it.

BE ACCOUNTABLE

You need to hold yourself accountable now more than ever in your new home studio. Treat the classes like you would an in person group class at your community centre . They are important to attend for your health and wellbeing. Put the class that you want to attend in your calendar or place the schedule on your fridge to be reminded to make time for YOU and your future body.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

All our classes are designed for various levels of fitness and modifications are always given for exercises. If you feel strong work harder and try one of our more difficult versions of an exercise, but be safe. In order for your body to get stronger, you need to progress your exercise. You may need to add more resistance to your routine by way of heavier weights or using bands or do a floor push up rather than a wall push up. But you need to listen to your body and follow your doctors recommendations. You don’t want to jeopardize form as that can lead to injury.
