We are interested in you as a person and want to share information with you about fitness, nutrition, wellness , aging and fun things to keep you intrigued and enrich your life.
Most of our live zoom classes are about 30-40 minutes long. We have a variety of classes and times that we teach live throughout the week that you can participate in and feel connected to our Boomer Zoomer community. Please visit our virtual classes page for class descriptions and a class schedule. Showing up to a live zoom class will hold you accountable to keeping with your fitness goals. You will also get to see your boomer zoomer ‘ friends ‘ for a bit of a social before and after the zoom class. Seeing everyone working out together will encourage you to keep moving and challenge yourself.
Included in the program, are a diverse collection of pre recorded videos that you have access to. You can workout to a video any time and from anywhere that you can connect online. We have a variety that you can choose from to meet your fitness level. Some videos are specifically for balance training, stretching , weights or a Hiit class to name a few.
With our program, we provide a fitness consultation for new members upon registration. We will arrange a time to meet with you on zoom to review exercises, form, offer modifications and discuss any concerns you may have. We want you to get the most from this program and not get injured or discouraged.

OUR VIRTUAL CLASSES (ZOOM)

What our Live in the Fit Lane Virtual Program is all About

Walk and Weights

Class starts with a cardiorespiratory workout, then we do some strengthening exercises incorporating your dumbbells and your body as resistance. Class ends with stretch and balance training.

Core on the Floor

This class focuses on strengthening your abdominals and back. It is done on the floor. The class also includes a warm up at the beginning and a stretch/relaxation at the end. You will need a comfortable surface for working out such as a mat or carpet. Class is under 30 minutes long.

HITT with Weights

This class is similar to regular HIIT but you can integrate dumbbells in the strength segment. This class also involves quick, intense cardio and strength bursts followed by short recovery periods. HIIT allows you to burn more fat in less time while also adding resistance to those muscles and bones. This workout also includes a warm up, cool down and stretch.

Cardio HIIT

Class includes cardio movements from our HIIT classes as well as simple aerobic moves with range of motion for your muscles and joints. This cardio class will get your heart pumping and get you sparkling.

Move and Groove Cardio

A fun way to exercise and help achieve those recommended daily cardio minutes. Move your body to some funky tunes and sing along in the comfort and safety of your personal space.

Stretch and Sculpt

Lower impact and slower paced than the HIIT classes. Entails a full body workout using light weights, exercise balls and resistance bands to tone and sculpt your body. Emphasis on proper body alignment to develop strength, endurance and stretching to improve flexibility. This class also includes exercises to help strengthen your body to prevent falls. This class can benefit any level of fitness. Class includes cardio, strength, balance and stretching.

Chair Yoga

Enjoy the benefits of yoga while seated in a chair. This is an adapted yoga practise and ideal if you have mobility limitations, need more support, managing an injury or want a more gentle approach to yoga without getting on the floor. Yoga challenges your balance and flexibility. Some poses have the option to stand but most poses are done seated.

Weight Training

Using weights and bands build up those muscles and your confidence as you challenge yourself in this total body workout. Components of this class include joint mobility, balance, stretch, strength and end with relaxation. Limited cardio is included. If you don’t have weights or a band you can still join in and be creative with your equipment.

Mindful Movements

This class will focus on flexibility, balance, posture, relaxation and mindfulness. It will include some stretching positions, guided meditation to encourage relaxation and then I will send you all healing reiki at end of class, while you are either laying down or sitting in a chair, to help promote relation further. You can choose to do the moves standing or use a chair for assistance and we may be on the ground for some movements or you can use a chair instead . You can wear your runners or sox/bare feet if you prefer. Its meant to be a calming class so you should be dressed for relaxation/stretching.

Fit on the Ball

This class is for those who want to work their core/abs and are comfortable on the floor. Its a challenging and intense workout that trains your balance, strengthens your abs, low back and other muscles. May include some fun cardio drumming in the warm up segment before we transition into balance, strength, stretch and relaxation. You will need a stability ball as well as spoons or drum sticks or your hands for our fun drumming portion.

Virtual/Zoom LIVE IN THE FIT LANE CLASS SCHEDULE

Please see our class schedule for current classes. If you want to workout and a live zoom class is not scheduled, you can workout to one of our recorded fitness videos (for members only). This will still pump you up as our instructor motivates you and gives you modifications for your exercises Feel proud that you took the time to exercise for YOUR physical and mental health whether it be a live zoom class or a pre recorded video from a class.

To get the most out of your experience in our program and to see and feel the results please try to follow these recommendations:

WORKOUT

Do about 3-5 classes each week. You are encouraged to start slowly and build up gradually . Recommend 20 to 60 minutes of low to moderate intensity exercise, 3-5 days per week including aerobic and muscle strengthening exercises. As you progress, you should aim to accumulate 150 minutes or more of moderate intensity physical activity per week. It is advised that you consult a qualified exercise professional to help you develop a safe and effective physical activity plan to meet your health needs.

BE CONSISTENT

Make attending our classes part of your regular daily routine and make that time count. Regularly come to the zoom class that interests you and challenges you. Work hard and put 100% into each session – you’ll be happy you did and you wont regret it.

BE ACCOUNTABLE

You need to hold yourself accountable now more than ever in your new home studio. Treat the classes like you would an in person group class at your community centre . They are important to attend for your health and wellbeing. Put the class that you want to attend in your calendar or place the schedule on your fridge to be reminded to make time for YOU and your future body.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

All our classes are designed for various levels of fitness and modifications are always given for exercises. If you feel strong work harder and try one of our more difficult versions of an exercise, but be safe. In order for your body to get stronger, you need to progress your exercise. You may need to add more resistance to your routine by way of heavier weights or using bands or do a floor push up rather than a wall push up. But you need to listen to your body and follow your doctor's recommendations. You don’t want to jeopardize form as that can lead to injury.
